All WP page edits or updates are defaulting to showing rendered front-page in the Avia Layout Builder area. Menu update is broken.
To make matters worse, the presented front-page is not editable because the Avia Layout Builder/editor area is defaulting to showing the full rendered web -page within the editor area instead of the normal editable elements (layout, content, media etc ).
Steps to reproduce:
Login -> Dashboard -> Pages -> Pick Any Page -> The full rendered version of the front-page is displayed in the editor area.
It is now also impossible to save any menu changes or additions since this upgrade.
I have followed the instructions at the https://kriesi.at/support/topic/having-problems-after-updating-to-wordpress-4-5-please-read-this-first/ to no avail.
I have disabled all plugins and re-enabled them back one at a time to no avail either.
Thanks for helping to look into these issues.
April 26, 2016 at 6:26 am #621905Hey ruskas1990!
We checked for the issue but it looks like the theme is not updated properly. If you are not using a child theme please backup any custom changes you may have added to the theme and download the enfold latest version 3.5.3 from themeforest and update the theme manually via FTP following the steps provided here http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/update-theme-files-with-ftp/
Best regards,
VinayApril 27, 2016 at 3:36 am #622673Dear Support:
Kindly help properly look into this issue. It is becoming rather frustrating being asked to redo or repeat basic troubleshooting steps that we’ve already gone through.
– The issue remains even after manually updating the theme to the latest version available.
The layout editor is seriously broken. You would have noticed that if you’ve logged into the website backend using the credentials provided.
The front-end looks fine, but we can’t make any changes to the front-end via the backend due to these issues. URL to screenshots showing the issue is below.
Kindly help thoroughly look into this before responding with a generic solution.
Your expertise and time is much appreciated.
April 27, 2016 at 3:58 am #622678Hey!
We noticed the error on your site the first time itself and suggested the best and effective solution for you to resolve it quickly.
I understand you have already performed approx 3 re-installs and still facing the problem yes this could be frustrating as it is not giving you any different result. This is because you have not deleted the old copy of the theme before performing a new install. Since there are 3 copies of the main theme it is another reason for a conflict as wordpress is designed to function properly with only one copy of a particular theme
Kindly backup if you have any data or custom theme settings and delete the theme folders completely via FTP and re-install a fresh copy from themeforest. It will surely resolve this issue :)
Best regards,
VinayApril 27, 2016 at 4:17 am #622683Hello:
You are correct- there are 3 copies of the theme; BUT they are in completely different folders. More-over we are using the enfold-child-theme.
Regardless, because you are the expert, we have gone ahead and removed the other enfold versions that might be causing any conflicts. The theme folder structure now looks like below. The issue remains the same, even after doing as you have suggested.
Thanks for your continued assistance.

The advanced layout editor is working correctly for me. please check the screenshot in private.
If you do not see the same please do a hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + F5 to open the Chrome Dev Tools then hold down Ctrl and click on the Reload button.

VinayApril 27, 2016 at 4:46 pm #623210I am doing a complete 360 turn around on not being happy with your support services.
You made genuine and timely attempts at resolving the issues. Thank you.
We tried so many steps and as such I am not completely sure which of the steps fixed the issues, and so I unfortunately don’t have any proper technical solution to share with other users.
While this issue was going on, there was a very recent WP 4.5.1 Maintenance Release update that alluded to “..an incompatibility between certain Chrome versions and the visual editor “. Did this have any unintended effect on the Avia Layout Builder or Advanced Layout Editor functionality ?
If “Kriesi’s support” group know what the exact issues and solution was, please post here for other users of your theme. It’ll help avoid a lot of needless flaming and frustration on your forums.
But please stop suggesting the generic solutions of “install, uninstall, hard refresh, wait, wait, lather rinse and repeat solutions”. You have a great theme and your developers are obviously very smart folks – you can do much better.
If the issues are with upstream software code (WP, PHP etc) an appropriate response will be something like ….
“…Yes we are aware of some of these issues and we are working fast and furiously on it and waiting for upstream to fix bug <insert URL to bug XYZ123> ….. Please don’t make too many drastic changes to your site as, this further confuses issues. We will keep you posted. Thanks – Kriesi’s support”Thanks for working with us on this.
