Hello. I have the Blog page (“Social”) set to use Advanced Layout. I’ve created a custom Widget “Social Page Sidebar” and assigned it to the Blog page. It’s not picking up the sidebar. I’ve tried to add the widget and I’ve also tried to specify the sidebar using the sidebar settings on the page.
I also needed to add another widget for an RSS feed. That is not showing up either.
Thank you,
Ryan
I decided to create a new page with all the needed widgets. Everything looked great. As soon as I set the page to be the “Blog Posts” page, all widgets stopped being populated again.
Hey!
I just checked your page and can see the issue.
Please provide us some time, so we can look into it further.

Sorry, not fixed. However, I’m able to reproduce the issue 100%. It’s bizarre. As soon as I install any Event Calendar plugin, the Social page is completely broken and all widgets are killed. Rather than it being tied to Event Calendars, I was wondering if any plugin that adds widget functionality is the culprit. Nope. Non-calendar widgets are fine.
I can’t tell me client they can’t have an Event Calendar…because it breaks their Blog page. : )
Hey!
The social page is basically created with the RSS module which is a native WP widget. This widget may be incompatible with the events calendar plugin. Is this working on a default wordpress theme? Please contact the plugin author for additional help because it seems that this is not a theme-specific issue.
Cheers!
Ismael
You’re correct. Replicated the issue on a core WP theme. Thank you.
