    Hi,
    I have a table and the spacing above the table is not consistent with spacing between other elements (such as between text block elements). I tried to force a margin of “0”, but that didn’t work. I am currently using this custom css in my child theme to affect the table elements:
    table caption {
    padding: 0 0 5px 0;
    width: auto;
    font-style:normal;
    text-align: left;
    font-size: 21px;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #2c353d!important;
    }

    div .avia-table { margin-top: 0px; }

    Hey webdesign!

    There could be several issue affecting the spacing please provide the link to the page where we can inspect the element in question(inconsistency in spacing ).

    Normally there is no inconsistency but if you are using any custom css we can help you figure out what is causing the issue and may be provide you with custom css to fix it.

    Vinay

    I’ve pasted the site below:

    Hi!

    I do not see where is the inconsistency you mentioned but the below css is what controls the table margins on top and bottom

    div .avia-table {
        margin: 30px 0!important;
    }

    Please feel free to adjust the 30px as required by your design :)

    Cheers!

    The code appears to only adjust the bottom margin. I made it 10 just to exaggerate the space. The top margin still has more space between the text block and the table, relative the the spaces between the other elements. I am viewing this via Google Chrome. I did enlarge the header font from the default… perhaps this could affect the margin above the table? Below is the code I adjusted:

    div .avia-table {
    margin: 10px !important;
    }

    Hey!

    There are unwanted p tags surrounding the Table Caption. Make sure that there are no space in the Table Caption field. Or use the suggested code above to adjust the spacing around the table:

    div .avia-table {
        margin: 0 0 30px 0;
    }

    Thanks for the reply… however the issue is still the same. The code (both codes given to me) only affect the bottom margin. The space issue seems to occur when the table is placed below a text block element. I’ve moved elements around a few times. If the table is moved below an accordion element, for example, there isn’t a space issue. Could this point to something else? Thanks

    Hi!

    I checked the link you’ve provided and I can’t see any issue. It seems there is no space above any table anymore. Could you fix it? If not please highlight what’s going on using screenshots (imgur.com, dropbox).

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hi,
    The space issue doesn’t appear because I moved the table below the accordion element. The space issue happens when it’s below a text block element. I have set up a second page and moved the table back into position showing the space issue. I created a second web page for demonstration purposes as I’m working on the other page elements. Please see the new link provided in the private data below. Thank you!

    Hey!

    I can’t see the issue on the test page but this is what I’m referring to:

    <caption>
    <br>
    <h3>Additional Service Areas Near Portland</h3>
    <p></p>
    </caption>

    There is a line line break and paragraph tag inside the caption. Make sure that there are no spaces in the Table Caption field.

    Hi,
    Where can I find that code on the page (that you referred to)? I have the code showing at the bottom of the advanced editor. But, even in that code, I’m not able to see what you are seeing. If I can find this code, I can remove it.
    Thanks

    Hi!

    Edit the Table element then look for the Table Options > Table Caption.

    Hi,

    In the Table Element, Table Options, Table Caption, this is all that is showing on my end:
    <h3>Additional Service Areas Near Portland</h3>

    When I view the table element with the code enabled, on the page, I see this:
    [av_table purpose='tabular' pricing_table_design='avia_pricing_default' pricing_hidden_cells='' caption='<h3>Additional Service Areas Near Portland</h3>' responsive_styling='avia_responsive_table']

    When I view my custom table settings in my editor child css, I have this:
    table caption {
    padding: 0 0 5px 0;
    width: auto;
    font-style:normal;
    text-align: left;
    font-size: 21px;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #2c353d!important;
    }
    div .avia-table {
    margin: 10px !important;
    }

    I can not find the line and paragraph breaks that you refer to above. Also, the table does not align with the rest of the elements on the page… it’s inset slightly. Everything else on the page aligns to the left. How also can I fix this issue?

    Thanks!

    #615975

    I just solved one of my problems… I changed the (margin: 10px !important;) from 10 to 0 in the child shortcode. That made my table align to the column. I still have that space issue, though, above the table.

    Hi!

    I see there are no bottom margin for the table other than that everything looks fine to me. please add the below css and adjust the bottom margin value.

    div .avia-table {
        margin-bottom: 20px!important;
    }

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Thanks for the quick reply. That didn’t seem to change anything on my end… I’m viewing in Chrome. How can I post you a screenshot of what I see?

    #617128

    Hi,

    You can upload screenshots to a service like imgur.com for instance and then link to the image in your post.

    Best regards,

    Here is a link to the screenshot showing the space difference – space is consistent between the two textbox elements, but not consistent between the table element and the text box element.

    Hi!

    control the space using a Separator/Whitespace element.

    Best regards,
    Andy
