Good afternoon,
I have a background background that when the page loads, it is small and has a black border on the left and right side. When I resize the window and make it full size again, the video then fits the entire screen as intended. This is in Chrome. It used to work no problem, but all of a sudden, without changing anything it doesn’t show full screen initially.I’ve tested the site in IE Edge and Firefox, which it seems to be working fine.
Please help! Thank you,

VinayMarch 29, 2016 at 9:53 pm #604796Hi Vinay,
I did do those steps and please see the attachments where it is working for 1 site and not the other. Again, the one that is being cut off used to be full width/screen but somewhere along the line it went awry and is now being cut off. Please see attachments.I have the same settings for both images attached. When I resize the window that gets cut off, then the video goes full screen even after making the window full screen.
Thank you in advance for your help.
March 30, 2016 at 8:08 am #605009Hi,
Could you try updating to the latest version (3.5.1) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Thanks,
RikardApril 7, 2016 at 2:26 am #609268Hi Rikard,
I’ve been out and about at meetings and am getting back to this. When I go to check for updates in the theme, it states that there are no updates available from the Enfold Child Theme settings. It shows version 3.4.7 but when I go to Themeforest and download the latest version it is version 3.5.1. This site is a multisite [2] installation, would that be affecting the “update” option?Thank you for your response,
KathyApril 7, 2016 at 8:22 am #609425Hi Kathy,
Could you try this plugin in order to delete WordPress transients: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/?
If that doesn’t work then you could try updating manually via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Thanks,
RikardApril 12, 2016 at 9:59 pm #612175Hi Rikard,
I tried using the transient cleaner plugin, but it did show that it cleaned the db but didn’t show that Enfold needed updating, it still shows I am using the latest version 3.4.7. I uploaded the theme manually and upon testing the site in different browsers, it seems the video goes full screen in IE and Firefox, but not in Chrome. I cannot recall if this was the case before. Please advise, thank you for your help,
KathyApril 13, 2016 at 6:28 am #612434Hi Kathy,
I’m not sure what is going on there but there’s something not right with that page, there’s a container element which should not be there. Could you try activating debug mode in order to see shortcodes: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/, and then copy/paste your shortcode to a new page to see if that helps?
Regards,
RikardApril 14, 2016 at 12:11 am #613314Hi Rikard,
I activated debug mode and copied and pasted the shortcode and still end up with the same issue. I went back to my video to ensure it is 16:9 and checked settings and to no avail no change. What else do you recomend? I reuploaded a new video etc and no change. Thank you,
KathyApril 14, 2016 at 9:20 am #613613Hey!
We checked for the issue usually if you have a layerslider element on the same page the background video wont be fullscreen until you re-size the window. we also noticed you are using a slightly old version of the theme. There is a recent update of enfold theme which is version 3.5.2 please update the theme and let us know if this will fix the issue.

VinayApril 14, 2016 at 5:57 pm #614157Hi Vinny,
I just upgraded to 3.5.1 and that didn’t fix the issue from before. I did notice the resize fix but the other site for the high school… http://flmechs.newfrontierscharter.org/ works perfectly. I don’t have a layer slider element on the main page either. I’ll try upgrading. Thank you
KathyApril 14, 2016 at 7:43 pm #614219Hi Vinay,
I updated to 3.5.2 and still the same issue. Please help!
kathyApril 15, 2016 at 9:24 pm #615160Hello any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I’ve supplied the credentials in the earlier post. Thank you!
kathyApril 18, 2016 at 3:06 pm #616549Hi!
Sorry for the delay.
We checked for the issue again but it seem to happen by default. By default this should not happen unless some custom code is overwriting the default styles.
To find out what is causing the problem please disable any custom styles and check for the issue. If you still get the black space on the sides of the video please disable child theme and check with the enfold main theme and let us know.
Regards,
Vinay -
