Add an icon to a video to start playing

Hi, first of all, I’m loving this theme. I already have a preview site where I embedded a local video through Avia, my problem is that the video is just a black screen with controls at the bottom and even though it works well it doesn’t look very nice or intuitive, so I wanted to know if its possible to add an icon at the center of the video that when I click it it starts playing and disappears, very much like the circle with the play button you see on YouTube for mobile.

It would be awesome to add this functionality and even better, to have the option to add my custom icon to the center.

Is there any chance I can do this without breaking everything else?
