HI, I’m new to Enfold and have created a little blog at http://www.littlevictories.com.au. I added the social icons (for people to share posts, etc), however they appear as twin sets (small icons and square boxes) – and then they disappeared all by themselves. So did the comments area.

I went back in and put it all back in, checked they were there, and then went away. And now they are gone again. An ad widget also appeared in a strange location where I had never put it. But then it too disappeared.

It’s driving me a little crazy. Can anyone advise why this might be happening and what I can do to ensure that just one set of icons remain there all the time?

    I’ll need simple instructions!

    Many thanks :)

    Hi nicbooth23!

Please disable all of your plugins, as they might be creating some conflicts and test it after, if it works properly.
Let us know if that saves u any time and fixes the issue

    Best regards,

Ok. I’ve disabled all the plugins. I went to ‘blog layout’ and clicked on the boxes under ‘Share links at the bottom of your blog. I went into the blog post and updated it. Still no share buttons.

Is there something I’m missing? Please don’t send me code :)

    Thanks

Also, just to add. I did it again, and then the social buttons appear, but also an advert widget appears that shouldn’t be there – and isn’t there when I try to delete it. Seems a bit fiddly!

Sorry folks. I just refreshed the page, and the social buttons plus the weird advert both disappeared again!!

If I can just chip in here instead of opening another thread, my Sharing Icons don’t show either (though they are enabled) and I tried to turn off the other plugins already (as suggested above).
Here is a sample blog post:

Any help would be awesome, want to shoot out the first posts on Tuesday…

    Thanks,
    Kris

edit: I found another thread and it said to add the share icons manually. I did that now… However, when setting the sharing icons in the Theme Options it gives the impression that the icons should appear automatically (which would be awesome of course… something less to remember). Is there an automatic option or do they have to be added in manually?

Oh dear, that’s not good news for me! I don’t suppose you can advise how I add them manually to each post?? Seems a bit tedious to me. I might even look around for another theme. Thanks for giving insight as a fellow new user of this theme :)

    Hi!

Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately?
Also, please tell us how we can reproduce the issue so we can make sure that we are checking correct issue :)

Hi, I’ve had someone go and try and fix it. Part of the problem is that with the Enfold template, you can’t have social icons on the homepage (if the homepage is a single entry blog). So I would have to create a home page and not have the blog as a homepage (or have multiple blogs that you click on to expand on the homepage).

Thanks to those who sought to help.

I posted my second post and yet again the social icons disappeared on both posts. I’ve gone back in and put them in. I don’t know why they disappeared, but I’ve placed them in manually now and it seems I’ll need to do that with each post. If anyone can confirm this is how it works, that would be great. Thanks

    Hi,

Are you using the builder or regular editor to create your posts? If you are using the builder you will need to add them manually each time.

    Regards,
    Rikard
