Change Color in Main Menu

Hi…how do I change the color in my main menu…BUT remain dark when the header shrinks to a white background on scroll down? I have a transparent header in my homepage now, and the menu is too dark to read against it’s background. But I need the menu to be dark enough to read when the header reverts to white on the scroll down.
