Tagged: search results page
Hello,
It looks like the search results page includes both headline and intro sentence for blog posts, but not actual pages.

I am assuming this is due to the Avia editor interfering. At least it seams that way when I use the Yoast SEO plugin and the “snippet preview” just displays code.
Am I overlooking something?
Is there a way to include an intro paragraph, for pages, within the search results page?
Thanks in advance,
Rick
Hey redbarndesign!
That happens when you use the advanced layout editor on the page. It will do the same for posts as well but with posts you can write a custom excerpt to use.

Thanks Elliot,
If I use the “advanced layout editor”, won’t it overwrite the Avia layout built into the page?
Thanks again,
Rick
Hey!
Huh, looks like I was mistaken. You can write a custom excerpt for pages as well.
If you do not see the excerpt field when editing your page then click on “Screen Options” in the top right hand corner of your screen and check it to display.
You can see on our demo here, http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/?s=about, the landing page has a custom excerpt written.

Elliott
Bingo! That works.
Thanks much,
Rick
