    Hi!

On one of my websites we’re using the Advanced Layout Builder to write blog posts now.

Before, on a single post, the featured image would be shown as a small pic at the top left, eg here: http://www.vrijzinnigen.nl/vluchtelingenradio-om-de-kerst-door-te-komen/

Now that we’re using the Advanced Layout Builder, is it possible to have that there too? I can imagine I could make it happen by using a 1/5 column or something and then add the picture there manually, but maybe there’s an easier way that makes it look the same (or at least similar) to the ‘old’ view?

    Thanks!

    Hey Welmoed!

We would need to provide you custom CSS code and that probably would not be the best solution. Using column elements is a better choice :)

    Great, thanks, will do that!

Related question, I read somewhere that using this Advanced Layout Builder for blog posts might make it harder to transfer the blog posts at a later stage in case we would like to move this site to another theme. Is that correct? Or would it not cause much trouble?

    Hi!

Advanced Layout Builder elements are basically shortcodes. If you switch to a theme that does not support them, they will output as shortcodes and not elements. But “to release Advanced Layout Builder as a standalone plugin” is in Kriesi’s to-do list :)

    Hi!

Ok cool! I have no plans of switching any time soon (nor has this particular client), but it’s good to know that I’m not setting them up for future trouble :-)

    Thanks,

    Welmoed
