I have a page that has a recurring–and so far unpredictable–problem with element spacing Avia builder–or so it seems.
I have a page with the following elements
-Full width slider enclosed within color section layout element to put graphic behind the slider. This has been working fine.
-Special heading (Putting THIS in there creates the problem, either within a full width layout element or on its own.)
-Full width submenu below the color section
-color section with the rest of the page elements within it.The problem arose when I inserted the special heading. It seems to work at first with proper close spacing between the top color section, and the elements below. But then when I reload preview after making some other change there is a huge space between the color section, heading, and submenu. This space stays even if I delete the heading and/or the full width layout element box!
It’s as if putting in the heading and/or full width layout element inserts something in the code that stays and messes things up even if I delete those elements. But I know VERY little about code so I’m not going to mess with it.I have tried emptying my browser cache, signing off and logging in again to WordPress–even restarting my machine. I’ve checked the padding and spacing options for various layout elements where they are adjustable. I’ve tried adding a whitespace separator with negative value, but it has no effect. The page retains this yawning space where it wasn’t before. I’ve also had this problem with several other pages on this site, but not to this degree.
Has anyone else had this problem?January 14, 2016 at 10:01 pm #565781Hi dkrausJFA!
There is no inconsistency in enfold theme please check all our demos here http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-overview/
However things look good to me on the frontend could you please share a mockup or a screenshot and help us understand the issue better please…
have you tried the Admin > Enfold > Advanced Styling > Select an element from the drop down to change the heading styles? or are you using custom css styles?
Cheers!
VinayJanuary 14, 2016 at 10:17 pm #565784Thanks for your response, Vinay . . . I’m not using any custom styles for these elements. They are totally stock layout and content elements dragged from the builder menu. Also no changes to the heading styles. The only vaguely unusual items are using some spacers with negative values to close up horizontal open spaces between the slider/color section, the heading, and the full width submenu. But the popup options menu for the separator seems to say it’s OK to do that, as it refers to being able to use negative values. But that seems to be the problem area. I insert a separator, program the values, then hit preview and it looks good. But after I actually update the page and look at it again, the whitespace has come back–or even gotten larger. I’ve checked the other adjustable custom margin elements to see if there might be a conflict there, but everything seems OK.
I went back in this morning and managed to get it to look the way I want–but I’m not sure exactly how. The spacer at the very top that I had deleted yesterday, had now re-appeared! So I deleted it again, the preview looked correct and consistent, so I updated the page and called it a day for any more experimentation on this page.
Everything else in the theme has worked flawlessly, as I expected it to when I chose Enfold for it’s large user base and thorough support. I’m wondering now if this might be more a problem with my Firefox browser than it is with the theme or WordPress. I don’t have any screen shots but if it does this again I will make sure to get plenty of them and send to you.
January 14, 2016 at 10:58 pm #565793Hi!
Thank you for your kind words… we are always ready to help you with any issue related to your enfold theme :)
However if we cannot see the issue it is difficult to resolve it. Let us know if you are able to re-produce the problem… then we can login to your wordpress backend and take a look at it.
The login detail you provided does not work… are you using the latest version of the enfold theme?
Regards,
VinayJanuary 14, 2016 at 11:08 pm #565795Looks like I had 3.4.6. I just updated to 3.4.7 . . . Do you mean the username/password I provided do not work?
