    I reduced the standard-height-setting for the whitespace-seperator from 50 to 30 – and nothing happened. Reducing it to 0 or even -500 does nothing.

    So I tried to custom element with no borders, icons or anything and set it to 2px top and bottom margin. The result is higher than 4px again.

    What is the magic about these elements?
