    Hi Julie!

You are using an old version of the theme, so please upgrade to Enfold 3.4.7 and let us know if you still need help afterwards.

I think in your case it would be best to go for a plugin like Yoast SEO plugin, as you have much more options for the functions you need.

    Regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

I have updated to WordPress 4.4 and updated the theme to 3.4.7 as requested (for some reason, the update did not get pulled to the WordPress dashboard so I had to manually do it, not sure why).

The Yoast SEO plugin (free version) is installed, and open graph tags are working on Facebook, Twitter and G+, but not on LinkedIn for some reason. It was still pulling only the page name (“Home”) and site name, but no image, SEO title or meta description, so the share looks very plain and doesn’t have any useful info. The same thing also happens on Reddit.

I re-applied the fix in this thread to fix the issue of it sharing the mini? url: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/social-sharing-buttons-2/– I had hoped that would fix the problem of it sharing only the minimum information.

After applying the fix, I am still getting error message “There was an unexpected problem that prevented us from completing your request.” when I try to share a page from the site.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? The client needs share capability on LinkedIn.

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hey!

It seems that there are some issues wit hthe linkedin API when sharing, just read the forums there.
can you post a new test article, wait around 2-3h and then provide us the link here, so we can do some tests our side also?

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    Hi Basilis,

I removed the fix I applied from this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/social-sharing-buttons-2/, and at least I no longer get the error when I try to share, but it still shares only the page name and site name, no image/title tags even though the OG tags exist and are pulling fine on Facebook and Twitter.

Any ideas on how to get it to pull the image, title and meta description?

    Hey!

try to contact yoast support about it. Try to activate a default WordPress theme to check if you have the same issue there or not and let us know about your results.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Yoast unfortunately does not really provide support for the free version, so opening a support thread probably won’t help.

When I change themes to Twenty Fifteen, it looks like LinkedIn tries to pull an image, but I cannot see it in the preview, and it still does not pull the tags (title and meta description)– link to screenshot of preview of LinkedIn share with Twenty Fifteen activated is below.

Since the share does technically work to at least get the link and page name, even though it is not pulling the image, title and description, I will tell the client a developer’s assistance or an upgrade to the Yoast plugin that includes support will be needed to fix this issue.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Hey!

    Glad you got it somewhere.
Please do let us know if we can do anything else, related to our theme.

    Thanks a lot

    Regards,
    Basilis
