Hi guys
Is there some hack I can use to display the blog (or at least tell the theme where the blog is) on a portfolio entry rather than a page?
Basically, my blog has to be a portfolio entry to show up in a portfolio grid under my “news” category. But I’m having styling issues once you go to page 2 of the blog listing, I need all the pages to look the same and can only do that by setting the blog page.
Any ideas? My website is http://www.ecdis.org/blog

I’m sorry but I’m not sure I understand. Can you take a screenshot and highlight what your trying to do?
Cheers!

I don’t think a screenshot will help to be honest.
Under enfold > theme options > Where do you want to display the blog?. There’s a drop down to select the blog page.
My problem is, my blog isn’t a page. It’s a portfolio item. I need 1 of 2 fixes:
1) The ability to select a portfolio item in that dropdown
or
2) Using the template element “portfolio grid”, allow me to add pages as well as portfolio items. (basically, anything and everything under a certain category, regardless of its post type)November 19, 2015 at 6:49 am #538751Hi!
Why do you need to set a portfolio entry as blog? I’m sorry but I doubt that’s possible. You can add a blog post element on custom post types but you can’t set it as the default blog page. Please hire a freelance developer or contact codeable: http://kriesi.at/contact/customization

Sorry for the delay. My server’s been hacked!! It’s been a headache fixing it
Anyway, as explained previously I want the blog to appear under a category called “news”. So when people visit the news page they are given a portfoilio grid of news, newsletter, blog etc.. obviously for that to work it has to be a portfolio item. (unless there’s a workaround for the portfolio grid to show pages as well as portfolio items??)
See screenshot to explain what I mean: SCREENSHOT

December 2, 2015 at 6:30 pm #546035Hey!
So your just trying to display a grid of regular posts assigned to the “news” category correct? You do not need to use portfolios for this. Just drag the blog posts element to your page content and set it to use the grid style in the settings.
Or just navigate to Dashboard > Enfold > Blog Layout and set it to use the grid style.
Best regards,

Understood, but I am looking for a grid combining posts AND portfolio items AND pages. Basically anything under a certain category!
The alternative option is to allow the “blog” set in the theme settings to be something other than a page.
Am I making sense? I seem to be confusing people :)

That’s going to take a lot of time and code and would have to be considered custom work.
If you need to combine them all then it would be best to just create them as regular posts. You can use this plugin to easily convert them, https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-converter/.
