    I’m trying to install Enfold on my WordPress server, and right at the end, I get a mostly-blank screen with this message:

    WordPress error message

    So, my only option is to click “Please try again”… which just sends me back to my WordPress “Themes” page, containing my stock themes, old theme, and the big “Add Theme” button.

    I’m not a total WordPress noob. I’ve successfully installed themes before–it’s insanely easy. This is my first time encountering this issue.

    Please refer to this video tutorial and install Enfold via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/install-enfold-theme-with-ftp/

    If you would like us to install the theme for you, please post WordPress admin credentials, FTP access here privately and upload enfold.zip on your server and tell us where.


    @dennisbergman     If you would like us to install the theme for you, please start a new thread and post the credentials i mentioned above. If you post them here, OP would be able to see your private content.

    The FTP video helped, but I ultimately tried a different (but similar) technique. BlueHost (my host) support recommended I use their File Manager to directly upload the theme to my wp-content > Themes folder. While this did work, I then had other issues: the theme was KINDA working, but a lot seemed broken. Probably a result of conflicts with my previous theme, configurations, etc.

    So, I wiped everything clean: completely deleted my blog, old theme, all posts, etc. so I would have a squeaky clean install. That finally got Enfold working. Unfortunately, wiping everything out in this manner has set my site launch back at least 2 weeks, but I’m glad to just have the theme working. I think it’ll be awesome once I get it customized and launched.

    I’ll definitely dive into the documentation this weekend. I love this theme and all it can do, so I’m looking forward to customizing it with my branding and content.
