We have our online store using the Enfold theme, with WooTax plugin & connecting via API to TaxCloud (service that makes sure sales tax is always up to date). According to TaxCloud, there is an issue with the script on the cart page.
Their support is telling me that the cart page is not being able to verify the 4 digit code with a specific zip code (so 53213-XXXX). Because it can’t be verified, it defaults to the lowest tax rate in the zip code given by the customer when checking out. For example, a customer the other day should of been charged 5.6% sales tax but since TaxCloud couldn’t verify that specific 4-digit code at the end of the ZIP, it defaulted to 5.1% (lowest tax rate in that area).
TaxCloud told me the most likely culprit would be an issue with the script on the cart page, being run by our WordPress theme. They specifically mentioned the “field identifier ID” or something to that effect. They said I could inspect it via the Inspect Element tool (which I am very used to doing for CSS related issues) but I have no idea how to look into a script using that tool.
Has your team ever heard of this kind of issue with your theme or am I crazy?
Thanks for any help you can provide – thanks!

November 5, 2015 at 10:20 pm #531216PS – TaxCloud’s wording to me was “Is it possible your theme is using non-standard address field ID’s?”….& I had no idea how to answer that question.
November 7, 2015 at 11:14 am #531835Hi!
Thank you for using Enfold.
I’m sorry but we haven’t come across this issue before. If you search the forum for the keyword “TaxCloud”, the result is going to be this specific thread so no other user who reported this issue before. The theme doesn’t modify the cart page to any extent so it’s using the default woocommerce cart page template. I would suggest opening a new ticket in the woocommerce support forum.
Cheers!
