The home page is in the first link in the private section below. I want to have the Magazine Content Element (we’re going to add more up here in the future BTW) then moving into blog posts, which I’ve done. But many of the writers are not or will not use the feature image. Long story short I’d like to use the format when you click on Blog (second link in the private section) in the top navigation go under the Magazine section on the home page. Or the “Single Author Small” with only the small image to the left of the post.
Can’t seem to make this happen.
The code that renders the blog page I want to use is right now:
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_posts_slider count=”3″ interval=”3″ title=”k.ljbgh” posttypes=”post”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
I went to the Blog page and added the Title and Magazine content element to the top, and I was going to make this the Home Page, but it doesn’t, as you can see, appear on the page (those elements are there now).
Sure I am missing something stupid simple here, but not sure what.
November 3, 2015 at 5:33 pm #529498Hi webranding!
I’m sorry but I’m not sure I understand. The problem is that the shortcodes your using in the page are not executing and instead just displaying the codes?
Are you sure the plugin those shortcodes belong to is activated? Try using a codeblock element instead of a textblock element.
Best regards,
ElliottNovember 3, 2015 at 6:33 pm #529557Hi Elliott, the Code Block element doesn’t work either. I want to take the block of code that is rendering the blog, and use that format (Single Author Small) on he homepage. Nothing I try is working. Plus, as I mentioned when I added additional elements to the Blog (like Magazine) none of those render at all, much less show up.
“Are you sure the plugin those shortcodes belong to is activated?”
Not sure what you mean by that, they are your codes I got from one of the “Dummy” pages I imported.
BTW: What plugins should be active for them to work?
BTWII: I’ve looked, but where/do you have a URL of all the Shortcuts I can use with the Enfold theme?
November 4, 2015 at 6:24 pm #530334Hi!
We do not have any shortcode named “vc_row”. If your trying to use a magazine element then the shortcode should be “av_magazine”.
Send us a WordPress login so we can get a better idea of what’s going on.
Cheers!
ElliottNovember 4, 2015 at 7:26 pm #530373Thanks for the response. I do need to come back to this topic so please leave it open, but about to launch (this is a very high traffic site — 1.5 million page views a month) a new commenting system (wpDiscuz) today and tomorrow. Let me get that out of the way and I will attempt to rewrite my initial post, provide more info, and give you an Admin login. But it will be a couple days. Hope that is OK.
BTW: I like to give compliments where compliments are do. This is the fourth site I have built off Enfold. Also used Avada (not bad, nice but won’t use again), KELO (wish I could get my money back), and going to test X Theme for my business site. In a long winded way I am looking for one of these advance themes that uses Visual Composer to use for like almost every site I build, because I can of course build almost anything off of them. There are a few tweaks I’d make with your Theme, but compared to the others it is the best I’ve found. So Kudos!
