Search engine indexing portfolio pages but they only contain feature image

My website uses the ajax portfolio: http://www.itchybrain.com.au/portfolio

Each portfolio item has associated text, eg. a paragraph about the portfolio piece.

When the full link is used (eg. such as indexed by google and shown in google search results) the resultant portfolio item page is empty, except for the featured image, eg. this type of full url: http://www.itchybrain.com.au/portfolio-item/monaro-farming-systems/

I would expect some information to appear, given that there is written text associated with each portfolio item (you will see in the ajax portfolio view).

Does this indicate I have set things up wrong, or is this how they ordinarily appear?
