October 16, 2015 at 5:13 am #519660Hi augenblende!
Thank you for using Enfold.
I tried to edit the home page and it won’t budge. I deleted the old homepage permanently from the trash, still nothing. What happens if you deactivate the WP Super Cache plugin?

Activate caching plugin again, go into its settings, switch off caching and afterwards deactivate it again. Clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times. If that does not help then try to delete all theme files and get a fresh copy from your themeforest account.

AndyOctober 16, 2015 at 3:36 pm #520050Hi Andy!
I cleared the browser cache for a few times but without success. Then I deleted WP Super Cache plugin. The problem is still there.

LotharOctober 19, 2015 at 9:40 pm #521203Ich komme einfach nicht weiter. Ich kann die Startseite weder löschen noch bearbeiten und ich habe keine Ahnung an was es liegen kann. Habt ihr vielleicht noch eine Idee?
Danke,
LotharOctober 20, 2015 at 5:33 am #521359Hi,
It wouldn’t update on my end either, are we allowed to disable plugins for testing purposes? You might want to contact your hosting service as well to see if they have anything to say about what’s causing it.
Edit: you could try to activate debug mode in order to see the shortcode and move your start page to a new page to see if that helps: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/

October 20, 2015 at 7:05 am #521407Thanks Rikard, I phoned with my hosting service already, but they could not help me.
I tried also to create a new start page and it worked well, but as soon as I switched it as the startpage, the same issue came up.
I inserted also the code in my function.php, but I can’t see the new field under the Advanced Layout Builder.
Thanks fo your help.

LotharOctober 20, 2015 at 12:04 pm #521523Hi,
I tried what you did as well with the same results unfortunately. The code you inserted is working, the custom field is just under the builder. I created a new front page called Kriesi Test Page and set it as front page but the page ID does not correspond with the ID of the page I created to it’s not updating. I deactivated your caching plugin, could you try to completely delete it from your site via FTP to see if that works? Please post FTP details if you should need help doing that.
Thanks,
RikardOctober 20, 2015 at 1:57 pm #521644Thanks a lot Rikard for your help. It would be great if you can do that, because I don’t know what I can delete.

LotharOctober 21, 2015 at 6:25 am #522131Hi,
I’m not sure what folder it’s in, you have a few there? There seems to be a WordPress installation in the root but without a wp-content folder, and that is the only folder we need access to. You could try to delete the plugin from the WordPress backend as well to see if that works. You might have to wait for a while until it’s completely deleted.

RikardOctober 21, 2015 at 7:04 am #522143Hi Rikard, thanks again.
I deleted the plugin and looked into the folder wp-content/plugins and I didn’t find any wp-super cache folder. So I think it’s realy deleted. Now I’m waiting :-) and hope that it works.

LotharOctober 21, 2015 at 4:07 pm #522360Hi Rikard, I’m sorry but it doesn’t work. So I installed wp super cache again and deleted it manually. I have found the instruction on the plugin homepage. Now I have some other problems.
I deleted also the theme enfold and installed it again but it doesn’t help. I have no idea what I can do next?

LotharOctober 22, 2015 at 8:28 am #522763Hi,
Still not 100% sure about what’s going on there, but having a semi installed WordPress in the root directory makes me raise my eyebrows a bit, why is it there? If you don’t use it I would suggest you delete it.
I logged in but I couldn’t see the error messages you are getting, is it the same install?
Could you please try to overwrite the theme files with a fresh copy from your Themeforest account via FTP to see if that helps? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Thanks,
RikardOctober 23, 2015 at 1:49 pm #523790Hi Rikard,
you have been a big, big help for me.
As I looked into the folders what I could delete, I saw a “index.html” in the root directory and this was the startingpage. I have no idea, how it came in this folder. After I renamed the index.html, it worked :-).
Thanks for your great work! I love that theme!
