problems with header

Hello, please check http://www.pittcreations.com/wp/ and see the attached images.
Image 1 = how it is now
Image 2 = how it should be

What I want to achieve is:
1. the red area (see image 1) needs to go away. I would like to see the slider image here (see image 2)
2. the green area (in which the menu items are present) needs to have a height of 125 px (as large as the image size).
3. orange borders need to stay as the are (underneath and above the menu).

But I can’t create this. Something is not working. When I enlarge the menu height, only the area above the menu items is enlarged. Not the aera in which the menu items are present.
