Dear all,
I would like to address a behaviour that I have been observing with the fullwidth easy slider. Maybe this might be intended and sometimes usefull, but it somehow bothers me…
When a page is loaded with a fullwidth avia slider, the page content is displayed first and then the slide image fades in. This leaves the user with a white space (or background) for the first fraction of a second. So with a good internet connection, this is fine. But assuming a slow connection, it might take up to one second until the slide image is loaded. What is especially interesting is that if I define a background image for the slider, this is displayed immediately, then the slides are faded in.
Of course I can use only low-size images to speed this up. Still this seems a bit unnatural to me. A better behaviour for me would be to load all contents first and then display everything at once.
So my question is: where does this behaviour come from? And can it somehow be fixed? e.g. is there an option for the slider to reduce the image fade-in time?
I would prefer to let the visitor wait with a completely empty page than an awkward whitespace.
I hope you understand what I mean…
Thanks in advance,
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian!
this is the way the slider works. I recommend to increase speed by following this instructions: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/tips-on-speeding-up-site-performance/#post-346077

Hey Sebastian!
In Dashboard > Enfold > Theme Options there is a “Page Preloading” option you can check to create a fade in so the user does not see the white space.
Cheers!
