I normally leave the web design to my designer – who is Pro-Joomla and anti-WordPress. Wanting to prove a point, I took on the job of recreating our own company site – which I was able to do with your wonderful theme.
As nice as it looks (considering I have no web design experience), it is incredibly slow when most people visit the site. It tests well with GTmetrix, but horribly with Google Speed Testing.
I’ve gone through all of the Kriesi recommended plugins for this issue. There was some improvement, but not much. Even though I do not know code, I do know that the page source of the site looks incredibly bloated.
I keep hearing the problem is page builders are speed killers and will damage SEO efforts.
Please help.
Hey imagehouse007!
Page builders have no effect on the front end speed.
Your site is loading for me in 4.8 seconds which is okay. You have 1.8 MB of images on the homepage. They seem to be optimized ok, it’s just that there is so many.
I did notice in the page speed insights that it says your server response time is slow. I have not seen that before. Here is some suggestions google says to look over, https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/Server.
I would also contact your hosting provider about this to see if they have any suggestions.
Cheers!
