Hello,
I installed Enfold theme, then created child theme based on your video, activated child theme and everything works great except automatic update. I know how to do it via ftp but I am curious on how setup automatic update. I see the message that I am running the latest version 3.2.3… please, see the private screenshot.
Otherwise I love what you are doing, great job! Thank you, David

It works the same. When there is a new version it should notify you. You can also click on the check manually button as well.

Child Theme updates do not update automatically. I have searched and search, but cannot find how to apply automatic update checks via the Child Theme. I came across a thread awhile ago with instructions, but cannot find it. Those instructions are not listed in the Child Theme video tutorial either.
I believe the Enfold Files must be uploaded manually to the FTP the first time after setting up a Child Theme, but I am not sure. Could you please confirm with proper instructions?
Thank you!
August 26, 2015 at 7:46 am #493327Hi,
The child theme is not updated automatically, that would defeat the purpose of having a child theme which is to override the parent settings. So when it’s time to update, update the parent.
Thanks,
RikardAugust 26, 2015 at 7:58 am #493329Hello,
thanks for the response but I am more confused than before. It is clear that the child theme is not updated because it is the reason why we create a child theme. My child theme is active and I want to automatically update the parent Enfold theme.
This is what I get on child theme update screen:
Is this information valid only for child theme and parent theme is up to date? How to find out without activating the parent theme?
What I have to do to update parent theme automatically if using a child theme?
Thank you!
August 26, 2015 at 3:50 pm #493629Hey!
Like I said you don’t have to do anything. Your already using the latest version as it says in your screenshot. When a new version is released it will show you in the dashboard. It doesn’t matter whether you have a child theme or parent theme activated, the automatic updates will still work.

Oh sorry, I got confused. The latest update is 3.3.2. It should check every 12 hours. Hit the “Check Manually” button to see if it finds it.
Best regards,
ElliottAugust 26, 2015 at 6:23 pm #493759At least in my case, it does not find it.

Are you sure your themeforest username and API key are correct? Double check that they are correct and then log into a different browser and try clicking the “Check Manually” button.
Cheers!

September 2, 2015 at 2:31 pm #497122Yes, they are both correct and have not changed; they worked prior to installing a child theme. I could have swore there was some process to follow after installing a child theme for the first time, but I cannot find that thread due to it being under another topic.
Any other ideas?
September 3, 2015 at 3:32 pm #497701Hi!
No, it should work the same even if a child theme is activated. Not sure what could be going on at your end. Perhaps a server issue. You can always upload a fresh copy via FTP, http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/update-theme-files-with-ftp/.
