hi guys, i have an enfold site at http://www.cfcnorge.com, and my client bought a new domain at http://www.cphfilm.no. The new domain redirects to the old one, but when it does it’s not responsive on my phone (nor chrome developer tools), even though the old domain is fine on mobiles. I can’t understand what is causing this. Any ideas?
I am actually trying to copy the old site to the new domain but was unable to get it working – followed the steps in the wp codex – do I need to run a search/replace on the new site after I upload the wp files, import the database, and change the settings on the wp-config? I did all that and could not get the new site to display. Since I have the redirect on the site, I am not able to login to the wp-admin (or something else is going on there- in manage wp it says the username can not be found now – do I need to install wp in a different way?). I have all the old site files on the cphfilm.no server, with the updated wp-config, but can’t really access the site. I am willing to start over with the new site – what am I doing wrong?
Thanks for taking a look,

August 12, 2015 at 10:53 am #486380Hi N!
Please refer to this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/
Cheers!
YigitAugust 12, 2015 at 11:25 am #486405Yes I saw that and have used it before – sometimes my server does not allow it due to large files I think?
How does that differ from using the export + import tool from WP? (which I have done from the old – new site and it didn’t work)
I should first disable the redirect on the new site, right?
Should I delete all files on the new domain? I have all wp files/media + enfold there now.
any suggestions appreciated

After you use the WP Migrate DB to export the database, you will have import the sql file in the phpMyadmin panel. You can actually ask your hosting provider to do it for you. After that, transfer the files (files inside the wp-content folder mostly) manually, via FTP or the cpanel. You can watch this video: http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/migrating-your-wordpress-database-wp-migrate-db-production-to-development–wp-32684
Since you already have the files in the new domain, all you need to do is to export the database using the plugin and then import it via phpMyadmin.
Cheers!
IsmaelAugust 13, 2015 at 11:23 am #487081I watched that video before – it is outdated (WP migrate has a different interface now), but I have followed that exactly. I have done all steps but after I import the database and go back to the site, I am kicked back to the wp install ( english / new name / username etc.) which seems to then not “register” that the other files are there from the old site – which I can see via ftp are there. What is going wrong? I understand what to do, and have tried a couple of times.
I just started with a dummy wp site on cphfilm.no, transferred my content files, migrated the database from cfcnorge.com and imported via phpMyadmin after dropping all the tables in that database (cphfilm_no) but then the url takes me again to the wp install pages. I have not gone beyond that this time but if you go to cphfilm.no now, you will see the install instead of the old site there, as it should be after just importing the database. If I look at the ftp, all files are there, including enfold and all my content. How do I access it?
Very frustrating. any suggestions??
thanks for your help

August 14, 2015 at 1:40 pm #487758Hey!
this is not a theme related issue, but I think you just have to install WordPress at first on your new server. After installing WordPress you should be able to import database.
