    I am trying to add in links via the avia editor using a normal text block. When I go to the link in and open it to a new window it does not work at all.

    This is a theme issue. I have disabled all plugins and it still doesnt work. I have change the theme to twenty fifteen and it works.

    I have the newest version of Enfold and newest WordPress.

    You could try a plugin in like this to not have to bother at all too: https://wordpress.org/plugins/open-external-links-in-a-new-window/

    Yes I tried to put this in manually as well and it just strips the target part of the html. I rather have this work correctly then have to install a plugin.

    I found the issue. It was some code in my Functions file (child theme). Thanks.
