Hello!
Until now I was looking for a solution to create a masonry gallery for my images with a filter option, just like the masonry portfolio. I found out, that this woun’t be that easy or even impossible (as written here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/sortable-masonry-gallery/ ). The only way I think would be to create a portfolio entry and to manually change the link so that the lightbox would open instead of the entry itself. As I have a photography portfolio this way is not very comfortable if you have more than a few images…
Accidentally I found out that there is a way to archieve exactly what I was looking for… I created a new portfolio entry and I called it “portfolio” (don’t know if this is somehow important). I didn’t change any of the options, neither I added any content. What I did, I clicked on “Beitragsbild festlegen” (in english this should be something like “define image”) on the right side and added some images. I also added some portfolio categories to the images. I got back to the site with my masonry gallery, changed the display option to “portfolio entries” and that’s it. Now I have a wonderful sortable masonry gallery… When I check the images within the media overview I can see that the “portfolio images” are labeled with “uploaded to portfolio”. The images I uploaded the normal way do not have this marking.
And now the question: Bug or feature? Or did I maybe miss an information about some new possibilites to create a filterable masonry gallery?
Anyway I kindly please you to not change this as I now have the kind of image gallery I always wanted to have :-)

Glad you got it sorted. You would just select whichever categories you want to filter by in the Masonry options. I didn’t see the “uploaded to portfolio” in the magnific popup that you were referring to so I’ll assume you figured that out as well. It’s just about setting the title in the image settings.

thanks for your reply. Actually the whole thing does only work when I upload the images within the portfolio entry (-> “Beitragsbild festlegen”) . When uploading pictures the common way as a media, they won’t show up in my gallery, even when I set a portfolio category. That’s why I was wondering if this is a bug or a feature ;-)
I made a screenshot from the Image Settings, there on the right side you can see the “uploaded to portfolio” (in german -> hochgeladen: zu portfolio).July 3, 2015 at 10:57 am #467900Hi!
Beitragsbild is just your featured image, which should not be the place to upload your images for masonry gallery. But not sure what the problem is though. Can you give us admin access, so we can take a deeper look into the issue? what are the exact steps to reproduce the issue? Post login details here as private reply
