Hello,
I can’t get this right…can you tell me how to make single.php full-width? I copied the file to my child theme but no matter what I do I end up with either a sidebar or a gap where it was. I deleted the php that said to fetch the sidebar, which seems to do part of the job, but I can’t see how to make the template full-width.
ThanksMay 23, 2015 at 4:04 pm #449064By the way, I still have the same issue with this support side that I did a while ago; after clicking submit, I just get a whitescreen and have to refresh the page to see anything. Using current version of firefox.
May 25, 2015 at 5:00 am #449328Hi!
I’m not sure what you are trying to do, but you can use full width ALB elements on single posts as well, maybe that would be an easier option than editing the core files?
Cheers!
RikardMay 25, 2015 at 10:25 am #449454Hello,
I am using a plugin (WP Job Manager) that uses single.php for ‘job detail’ pages. I don’t appear to be able to change that – well, I know from the plugin author that what I need to is edit single.php. I know I can create a child version of single php but don’t know HOW to apply a full-width format to the template. I don’t want sidebars on these pages.
I hope that explains it!

Can you post a link to one of the job detail pages? also a screenshot/mockup of what would you want to achieve would be helpful.
Best regards,
JosueMay 27, 2015 at 7:25 pm #450780I can’t send you the url of a page because I’m currently creating the site offline until it’s in something close to finished state.
I’m not sure how I can send you a mock-up. All I want is to have single.php full-width as a full-width page by default, not with a sidebar. That’s all!
I don’t need to use single.php as a blog page within the theme/website. However, the plugin I am using outputs individual jobs onto single-php regardless of which template it is used with. At present, I am obliged to have an empty sidebar, which I don’t want. I would normally be able to edit the template, but I see nothing to edit in this case.
Sorry to repeat the question, but how do I make the single.php template full-width?
ThanksMay 27, 2015 at 10:15 pm #450822(above) I should have said
“I don’t need to use single.php as a blog page within the theme/website. However, the plugin I am using outputs individual jobs onto single.php regardless of which theme it is used with. ”I know I’m not a php expert (I know absolutely squat) but surely it isn’t difficult for you guys to explain to a dunce like me how to change a php page template from having a sidebar to not having a sidebar? I even managed to work out how to do it for myself with other themes by creating an edited php template in the child theme, but in your single.php there is nothing I can see how to edit.
Please, I’ve been waiting a while for an answer to this.

In Theme Options go to Sidebar Settings and set “no sidebar” here – http://a.pomf.se/lrralc.png
