I’ve just installed the latest version on localhost to try and create a specific look for a website I’d like to create. I want to change the standard header, even if only because it seems that every themeforest design has exactly the same design these days. They’re all even the same height…same size logo and so on. Looking at the theme options under the ‘enfold’ tab in backend, it looks like I can only set a single colour for the header, with no option for a gradient or a background image.
I tried over-writing the values with child-theme custom css but the values written in the enfold options section overwrite them. In chrome, for example, I see the test black background appear (set in child style.css) for a split second before being replaced by the colour specified in enfold options.
There will be other areas where I would like the same colour/gradient/background image to be used (for example, colour blocks or section headers within pages, in table header areas and so on) and I also want to have a complimentary (if not matching) footer design and is quite important.
So, assuming I want a 2-colour gradient (top to bottom) in the main header area (not top bar) and a 2-colour footer background gradient (horizontal, with a light colour in centre, graduating to dark on outer edge of footer), how do I accomplish this? I cannot see how to over-ride the standard scheme or theme css.
Many thanks.
May 12, 2015 at 10:12 am #442892Okay, I just found a bunch of other questions relating to this – I use different themes and not all have searchable forums, so forgot to do it. I’m sure I will manage, but if I can’t find the solution myself I’ll repost this, so you can close it if you like.
BrianMay 12, 2015 at 10:13 am #442893Unrelated; every time I post a message here today, all I get is a white screen after posting that will not go away.
Using firefox.May 13, 2015 at 3:33 am #443486Hey!
Thank you for using Enfold.
You can actually add a background image on Enfold > General Styling > Logo Area panel. Or use the Quick CSS field if you want to add your css modifications in the theme. Note that bumping or replying to your own thread will push the inquiry back to the newest queue so we will not be able to answer it immediately.
The dead screen issue when posting an inquiry is irregular and we’re not sure why it’s happening, sorry about that. You can refresh the page back.
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 30, 2015 at 12:18 pm #451985Ismael, the problem with the white screen after posting still happens today, a couple of weeks later.
If you refresh the screen after posting it generates an error message saying something like ‘oops you’ve already posted this’.June 1, 2015 at 5:39 pm #452671Hey!
please post a link to your website where this issue is happening. We would need to inspect it. Make sure to use newest theme and WordPress version. Deactivate all plugins while testing.

AndyJune 3, 2015 at 5:25 pm #453958@Ismael,
I wasn’t bumping, I was saying I’d found a solution. I thought that was clear.
@Andy,
I then said that I get a white screen on THIS website after I post anything. If I post a comment or new thread. I got it today after posting a new thread and I’ll get it again after posting this. If I refresh the screen I then get a message saying I’m trying to make a duplicate posting, or similar. It’s a fault on your site, not mine! But as I said before, you can close this topic insofar as I solved the issue.
Thank youJune 4, 2015 at 12:05 pm #454392 -
