I have just updated Enfold and WordPress to the latest versions. All appears fine until I have written my first new post…
I discovered you can now use the advanced editor too (hoorah). But having written the post all I see is “Read More >”
As far as I can tell I don’t have anything set to turn on excerpts. Is there a new way to turn this off so that just the normal post displays?
Thanks

The advanced editor for posts is meant for people who want total control over their blog posts, very similar to a page. If you want the regular style then please use the default editor. I couldn’t see the blog post you were referring to, did you remove it or maybe you got it fixed already?
Best regards,
RikardMay 4, 2015 at 9:17 am #438774Hi Rikard,
Thanks for getting back to me. No I haven’t managed to fix the problem. I just hid the post so it couldn’t be seen by any visitors. I have re-published it lower down the page: http://colinwalton.co.uk
If you scroll down to “Recent Pastel Paintings” you will see the post that is using the Advanced Editor. Also displaying the Read More… link which I want to replace with the actual photos!
This is what the post should look like without having to click on “Read More…”

Thanks for your help!
May 6, 2015 at 7:30 am #440151Hi!
Is this the only post created with the ALB? Add this in the Quick CSS field to hide the read more link temporarily:
.blog .read-more-link { display: none; }
Cheers!

I have tried it for other posts, but it refused to do anything other than the READ MORE link. So I replaced them with normal entries.
Perhaps you have misunderstood? I would like the ALB POST to display on the blog along with all the others, so hiding the Read More link only hides the line of text rather than force the images to display.
Maybe it isn’t possible to show the CONTENT of ALB in the blog posts?

Alright. If you use the advance layout for post and if you want to show an excerpt in the blog overview page, you need to add the summary or excerpt manually by using the Excerpt meta box.

IsmaelMay 8, 2015 at 8:47 am #441439Hiya,
Sorry this isn’t what I am looking for.
I just want to see the content of the post displaying in the blog overview page – currently it seems to be hidden.
As far as I can tell the only way to see the actual post “Recent Pastel Paintings” is to click on the heading or Read More links.
All I want to do is display this post (created using the advanced editor) along with the others.
OK?

Like I said, it’s not possible to display the content in the blog overview page if the post is built using the advance layout builder. You need to add an excerpt manually.

Thank you for spelling it out. For the record you didn’t actually say this before, but it’s fairly crucial.
” it’s not possible to display the content in the blog overview page if the post is built using the advance layout builder. ”
It’s a shame, but thanks.
