Hi – Right now I still have my WP.com site live as well as this new WP.org.
We just fixed the problem with the galleries and now they’re all Tiled Mosaics again – I’m not sure if they’re linking to the photos in my new media library or the old one yet – have asked in another thread if I should link to Attachment Page, Media File or None.
My question here is related, but not. If I click on a SINGLE photo (not in galleries), like at the top of the page http://dominiquehurley.com/studio-sneak-peek-snowflakes/ , and I go in Edit Post -> click photo-> click edit pencil above it -> I see it was automatically linked to Custom URL – https://dominiquehurleyart.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/11-dominique-hurley-wip-dlh_1126.jpg That’s on my old WP.com site. Won’t these photos all disappear when I take my old WP.com offline?
Should I go through my whole site and change single photo to something else? (Media File, Attachment Page, None) I don’t understand the difference between these and if this is a 2-day job I don’t need to do.
Thanks.

Thank you for using Enfold.
Looks like the database are not properly transferred so the images still points to the old url. They will be remove when you shut down the old website or when you remove the files. You might need to re-transfer the site again but this time, use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/

https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/migrating-your-wordpress-database-wp-migrate-db-production-to-development–wp-32684I think it’s best if you hire a freelancer to this job. Please contact codeable: http://kriesi.at/contact/customization
Cheers!

I understand the problem. Wow. I had hired a pro team at Bluehost to do the transfer. I will also contact them about it even though our contract is over. As a technical newbie, I hadn’t caught that mistake during our 2 week window.
I don’t think re-transferring the site is an option – I believe I would lose the 300 hours+ of work I’ve put on the new site in the last few weeks.
I’ve checked and the photos are in the new media library. For example
the currently linked to Custom URL: https://dominiquehurleyart.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/11-dominique-hurley-wip-dlh_1126.jpg
is in the current library as:
http://dominiquehurley.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/11-dominique-hurley-wip-dlh_1126.jpgI tried changing the beginning of the link manually on one photo in the Photo Edit Custom Url box and it worked.
Interestingly, all the photos in the galleries that we thankfully fixed using Jetpack are linked to the new media library. At least that’s what it looks like.
I informed the Bluehost Chat Line of the problem and they suggest I use Velvet Blues to have all the links changed. Can I get a second opinion?
I’m learning so much through all this – an ex-technophobe. Thanks for all your help.
April 21, 2015 at 6:45 am #431776Hi!
WP Migrate DB should handle the url switch but yes, I think the plugin will work. I haven’t tested it personally though. Since you paid for the transfer and they didn’t do it properly, I think you have the right to ask them to use the plugin that they suggested to adjust the url. You can actually do this in the database manually but you can try the plugin first.
Best regards,
