Hi,
I’ve tried to set up a blog page by doing the following:
Made a page called ‘The Blog’. When I made a page called simply Blog content was automatically inserted that I could not remove.
Went to Appearance/Customise and set ‘The Blog’ as the default blog page.
Went to Theme Options and selected where I wanted to display the blog (chose The Blog page).
Went to Blog Layout and chose “Use advanced layout editor etc…”
Went to Advanced Layout Editor/Content Elements on The Blog page, added Blog Posts. When I add a blog post to the page it will add okay but no categories display in the sidebar.I would be grateful if you could help or point me in the right direction of some comprehensive blog setup information. I’m new to wordpress and have to idea how to set up a blog using it. I can’t find any step by step guides for Enfold other than a couple which show me no more than I have listed above. There appear to be no blog step videos or tutorials either.
On your Enfold demo you show a blog with nicely formatted, indented text, Tag links and sharing icons. I can’t see anything that tells me how to do this.
Any help very gratefully received, thanks.

Seems something weird is going on with your site, I created a page called blog as well and I got a page with content with another theme. It might be because of your settings in Settings–>General, what happens if you remove new-arn from the URL?
You can find all Enfold documentation here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/
You can get all demo content by going to Enfold–>Demo Import

Ok, I see, what happens if you fill out /new-arn in both the fields? It seems like the other installation is creating a conflict with your current configuration.
I removed the link in my previous post, sorry about that.
I’m not really sure what you mean detailed step-by-step instructions, the documentation in the previous link is more or less all we have, but you can always ask questions here if you have any specific ones?
Importing demos can be a bit messy yes, but maybe you could try to just import the one you like? That should keep it at a minimum. It’s always possible to delete the imported data if you should not need it anymore.

Here’s what I’ve done to get the blog sorted. I’m almost there…
Made a page called ‘The Blog’. Page set as the default blog page.
Went to Blog Layout and chose “Use advanced layout editor etc…”
On the The Blog page I went to Avia Layout Builder > Content Elements and added Blog Posts.
Blog posts display fine on this page however the sidebar is empty. As is usual worth a blog I was expecting this area to contain Categories / Archives etc… as on this page in the Enfold demo – http://kriesi.at/themedemo/?theme=enfold-overview
If you could let me know how to achieve this I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
JohnApril 25, 2015 at 7:14 am #434615 -
