Hi
I’m on WP v4.1.1 and Enfold v3.1.3
I have a child theme active.I have my default layout settings set up to display a sidebar on all pages.
I’ve got my default header settings set up display the page title and breadcrumb. When I view the site, neither the sidebar, nor the title & breadcrumb is displayed. Even if I change the page settings to not use the default and set it to
explicitly display a sidebar, I still don’t see it. Strangely enough if I view it on mobile or iPad, I see the sidebars.
I previously had a problem where the sidebar and breadcrumb was ALWAYS displaying everywhere. I did not want it on the homepage and had to
hide it manually with CSS to prevent it from displaying – as the layout setting to NOT display it on that page was ignored. Now the problem seems to
have been reversed.
The custom fields on the page are populated correctly – they are showing ‘sidebar_left’ for layout and ‘title_bar_breadcrumb’ for header_title_bar.
When I look in the database the values for the post is correct in the post_meta table.Something very strange I did notice was that if I output the value of $sidebar_pos on sidebar.php, just above the line where the filters is applied the value is shown as ‘fullsize’. This is definitively wrong. Where is it getting this value from if both my theme and page has been set up to show a sidebar?
Kind Regards

I’m not sure I understand what you mean, I can see both breadcrumbs and sidebar on http://www.jhgppp.co.za/why-us, what should it look like?

I looked at the website this morning, and for the first page view the sidebar was back. I could also see the breadcrumb and the page title. The breadcrumb was correct, but the page title that was displayed was not that of the ‘why us’ page – which is a separate issue.
The value of the $sidebar_pos, which I’m still using as debug output on sidebar.php, was also showing correctly as ‘sidebar_left’.I then opened another page which also loaded fine, but then when the page refreshed, it loaded WITHOUT the sidebar. This page is set up to use the theme default settings for sidebar, which is ‘sidebar left’.
I went back to the ‘why us’ page which is again displaying WITHOUT the sidebar. The debug value for $sidebar_pos is showing as ‘fullsize’, even though just a few second ago, it was showing correctly as ‘sidebar_left’.
There is certainly something very strange going on. At this stage I was not even logged in to the backend. No page or theme settings has changed in the time that the two pages were loaded. Why is the $sidebar_pos variable displaying the wrong value for the ‘why us’ page? Something seems to override whatever the page setting is.Kind Regards

What I also noticed was, if I’m logged OUT, I more often see the sidebar display correctly. If I’m logged IN, the sidebar seems to disappear more often.
