Tagged: update enfold
Hi @Kriesi,
trying to update to Enfold 3.1.3 as I was told in the backend, but since 1/2 hour on …/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-theme-upgrade beneath “Updating Theme Enfold (1/1)” the wheel is still turning.
Webspace can’t be the problem, there are more than 800 MB free… And via ftp I can’t see any new files written – except the “.maintenance” in the wp-root. The Enfold folder under /themes/ has chmod 755 and the enfold-child 710.
Any idea?
Thanx from he other side of the alps ;-)
Hey Stephan!
Could you try updating the theme via FTP instead? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Best regards,
Rikard
Hi Rikard,
ok, that worked. But it doesn’t solve the originial problem with a feature in your product… And some of us don’t have any experience with FTP – what should they do?
Best regards
Stephan
I have had same issue for two times – the wheel turns and turns and so on. No end to see. Last time I used a second browser and watched it from “outside” – first I saw the maintenance screen. After a while (a few minutes only) I refreshed and hey – it was done. In my first UA the wheel still runs. I switched over to the dashboard and then checked the version-number. Update worked without an ending message.
…to be shure to have the newest files really, I performed a ftp-transfer after all ;)
Hey Stephan!
Unfortunately updates doesn’t work perfectly every time, I get blank screens when updating plugins, official WordPress themes etc pretty often, usually it’s only on the front end where it seems to have gone wrong, but updating the page will help most of the time. Not everyone has experience with FTP, that’s why we are here to help out.
Cheers!
Rikard
