    Hi,

I went through a lot of posts on the forum but could not find the solution.

I have two different blog pages on my site. The content is created through the ARTICLE (POST) page. For each post, I set up a category so it will be displayed on the correct page.

So I have page 1 with all posts with category 1 and page 2 with all posts with category 2. With the AVIA tool and the blog article element, this works fine. This works fine even with several different categories.

But, I need to add a menu so I can display the categories of the page. So I use the widget, and create a sidebar blog with a category item.

The problem is that ALL categories are displayed in the sidebar. That create an unwanted link between the 2 pages. I just want to display the categories of the article that are in the page.

How can I do that ?

i tried PRO CATEGORY DISPLAY like you recommanded in another post but it did not work for me. I really need to create customized widget:
    – sidebar blog page 1 : with category 1A, 1B, 1C
    – sidebar blog page 2: with category 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hey fwillmann!

It’s hard to understand what your doing from your description. It sounds like it’s custom work but send us a link to your page so we can get a better idea of what your trying to do.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

Unfortunately, i cannot provide you with an URL to my page because it’s currently under development on a specific dev platform.

I switched my theme in English so I can have the labels right and I will try to be clearer.

    Context:
We have 1 corporate site. It has a page dedicated to our news. The content of this page is created through the POSTS section. We have created 4 categories related to the news so we can tag the article with one or several of these categories. Our news page shows all the articles of these 4 categories. This page is split in 2 parts, one displays the articles, the other one is the sidebar and displays a search engine, a list of the categories, and social network engagement link.
To see this page follow this link: <ahref=”http://www.magellanset.com/actualites”>http://www.magellanset.com/actualites/
This sidebar has been set-up through the widget menu (APPEARANCE>WIDGET) using the Search engine widget, the categories widget and a text widget.

    What we want to do:
We would like to add a Blog to our site. The content will be articles just like those created for the News page. We created a new page similar to our news page that we would like to use as a blog. We aim at using the POSTS section to create the content of the blog. Therefore, we will create new categories that will be related to the blog only so we can tag the articles with those specific categories. On the blog page, we only want to display articles that are tagged with the blog related categories.
Using the BLOG POSTS element of the Avia layout builder, this work alright

    Problem:
I need a specific sidebar for each page. The goal is to display only the categories related to the page (the news categories for the news page and the blog categories for the blog page). But when I use the widget, it displays all the categories. I would like to have the choice to choose which categories I want to display in the sidebar of each page and that these categories match the content in the page.
I tried PRO DISPLAY CATEGORIES, as you did recommend in a previous post, but it does funny thing: displaying categories that I normally excluded.

    Hey!

In this case I would try using the “Custom Menu” widget and create a menu for each page. You can drag category links to each menu.

    Best regards,

    Hey Elliott,

I have tried this way but the category widget do not allow me to choose which categories are displayed.

I finally found a plugin that works for me: DISPLAY CATEGORIES WIDGET.
To make it work well, i created two parent categories corresponding to the 2 pages I want to feed with the posts: NEWS and BLOG. the Display Categorie Widget makes me choose which one to display and add some extra feature.

Thanks a lot for your help.
