On http://www.localsguide.com, we are seeing 404 alerts from Google Webmaster Tools for many images we place in the Gallery function of the Avia Layout Builder. We are able to access these images directly, and they are appearing properly in the source code, but we can’t figure out why they are still being flagged as 404 errors in GWT.

An example of this is the image http://localsguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/hotel_room_kiosk.png on the page http://localsguide.com/kiosk-app. While it appears when clicked on (and in the source code), GWT can’t see it (nor can we when the URL is pasted into the browser bar). Our wordpress developer can’t find the error, can you help? We’re seeing the same issue across over 100 images…

    Thanks

    Hey agentcheese!

The image you linked to is giving me a 404 as well. I would try contacting your hosting provider about this.

    Best regards,

    Ok Have figured out 404
This must be an issue with theme. But am having issues where it behaves then it misbehaves.

    Go To
    http://www.Localsguide.com/kiosk-app

Look at any of the bottom images.
    1. If you click the image then you will be taken to proper image.

    2. If you scroll over image but do not click …then right click
“Copy LInk Address” = You will get the 404 Error

    Hey!

In that page all of the images are loading for me. I also copied their URLs and viewed them separately in the browser and I do not see any 404s.

But the image in your first post is still giving me a 404. Are you sure there are no typos in the URL? Double check to make sure it actually exists on your server.

    Best regards,
    Elliott
