This has actually been a problem for a while now, but I haven’t had the time to investigate. The website is here: http://psyc304.metaplasticity.com/
There is an advanced layerslider there but none of the images are showing up. They were when I first set up the site and it was working fine for at least 1.5 years.
thanks for your help in advance,
steven
March 23, 2015 at 7:12 am #416224Hi stevenjbarnes!
It looks like all the images in your slider is this image: http://psyc304.metaplasticity.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/static/img/blank.gif. Could you try to add some other images to see if it works then please?
Best regards,
RikardMarch 28, 2015 at 7:24 pm #419883Thanks for your reply Rikard. The images are there. In fact, I just realized the slider shows up fine on my iPhone. I just can’t see it on my laptop browser (Chrome or Firefox).
cheers,
steven

Ok, could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details here as a private reply.
If you are running a lazy load plugin, please try to deactivate it to see if the problem goes away.

I see you are using a caching plugin, could you try to delete the cache and deactivate the plugin to see if that helps? You could also try to deactivate all other plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict.

Tried deleting the cache and disabling the plugin, but no luck.

April 3, 2015 at 6:21 am #422885Hey!
Ok, did you try to disable all plugins as well? I get the feeling that there is a conflict going on since none of the sliders are showing.

RikardApril 3, 2015 at 7:47 pm #423240Hi Rikard:
Yes, I tried disabling all the plugins. Still, no luck. The sliders do show up on my phone, so its all a bit strange.

Could you try to overwrite the theme via FTP with a fresh copy from Themeforest to see if that helps? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

No luck I’m afraid.

April 6, 2015 at 5:43 pm #424042Hi!
I deactivated all of your plugins and then activated Enfold instead of your child theme and the javascript errors went away. Try creating a new child theme and copy your customizations over one by one to see if any of them are causing the issue.
Your source code looks a little weird, are you sure you have not done any customizations to the parent theme as well? Try completely deleting it before downloading + uploading a fresh copy from themeforest to make sure.
Cheers!

April 7, 2015 at 4:12 pm #424778Hi Elliott:
Thanks for looking at it. I tried what you suggested, but I lose all my formatting when I create a new child theme, and it doesn’t seem to help with the slider issue. I think I give up.
On a side note: For some reason the slider works fine in Safari (in addition to my iPhone browser)–it just doesn’t work in Chrome or Firefox. Very strange.

April 8, 2015 at 12:35 pm #425192Hey!
You have to Import the Parent Theme Settings once you activated the child theme. Please refer to this link: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 5, 2015 at 2:53 am #439455Still no luck (it looks totally different once I export and then reimport the theme settings, and the slider still doesn’t work; I reverted to the original child theme). And now I have second site that has the same issue after updating WordPress: biopsyc.com.
May 6, 2015 at 3:45 am #440079Hey!
It took you a month to respond. Anyway, is the site using the latest version of the theme, 3.1.5? There are jquery errors on the console when I checked it.
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined(anonymous function) @ (index):226
(index):226 Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a functionPlease try to deactivate the plugins.

IsmaelMay 6, 2015 at 10:35 pm #440681Yeah, sorry for the slow reply. I didn’t want to mess around with the site (psyc304.metaplasticity.com) during that month for the sake of my students (classes are over now). I have deactivated all the plugins and I still have the same issue. I have left them deactivated so you can check it out.
Again, the sliders work fine on Safari on my iPhone, so I am quite confused about why this is happening.
Thanks for your help,
steven

May 8, 2015 at 12:01 am #441311I noticed I am getting a jQuery not defined error in the console. Might that have something to do with the issue? And, if so, is there a fix?
thanks,
steven
May 9, 2015 at 5:23 am #441870Hi!
Yes, the error is cause either by a third party plugin or a modification inside the theme. The site is subscribed to a CDN provider. Please purge the cache there. Refer to this link for a possible fix: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/layerslider-not-working-after-enfold-3-04-update/#post-357486
Best regards,
IsmaelMay 9, 2015 at 7:52 am #441910Thanks Ismael.
Turning off Rocket Loader™ in Cloudflare fixed both sites.
