I can’t get the Fullwidth Easy Slider to scale the height. It just shows the image full screen.
I disabled all my plugins and it still does it. It works on another install I have though so I don’t know what’s going on….
I want the banner to be about 1/4 of the top of the page.
Please help!

Have you tried editing your Fullwidth Slider and changing “Slideshow Image and Video Size”? – http://i.imgur.com/FIaFnq1.png

YigitMarch 2, 2015 at 6:37 pm #404681Of course I have. As I said before it doesn’t work. The height cannot be controlled.
March 3, 2015 at 9:14 am #405001Hi!
The thumbnail is not available for that specific image. Try to regenerate the thumbnails by using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
Go to Settings > Media, click regenerate thumbnails.

IsmaelMarch 3, 2015 at 9:19 am #405007Thanks for the reply but that image I am using works just fine on my other Enfold WP site. It crops just fine.
I can’t control the height of ANY IMAGE. The slider is not working for me at all the way it is supposed to
Something is wrong with that specific slider. Can you help fix it please.March 5, 2015 at 2:05 am #406173Hi!
Are you using “Archive Remote Images” plugin to create the images in your Media library? i made a test here (manually uploaded image) and you’ll see that the image sizes are working fine there so that seems to be the culprit. Perhaps this plugin could force the regeneration of those externally fetched media files:

JosueMarch 5, 2015 at 2:43 am #406183I’m not sure you guys actually understand what it wrong. Please review the page you created on my site again. I put a Full Width layer slider in and it’s not working correctly. Please check it out.
March 5, 2015 at 3:30 am #406189Hey!
I do understand you, but these are two different issues:
1. For some reason images found in your Media Library aren’t being regenerated, manually uploaded images work fine.
The slider is working as expected, you selected theFeatured (1500x430)
image size and that’s the image size the Slider is calling (at least for the first slide, which is the one i uploaded manually).2. You’re trying to control the height of a fullwidth element and that’s not possible.
You can’t directly control the height of the FullWidth Slider because the Slider fills the whole available space (hence “full width”) so the height will vary depending on the window size, if that’s not what you expected i’d suggest trying out a non-FullWidth Slider like the Easy Slider.Regards,

March 7, 2015 at 10:58 pm #407571Are you saying I have to resize the image height myself? That the full width slider will not resize the images?
All I want is a full width slider at the very top of my page. At the moment I set it to 1500×430 and the slider keeps changing high with the images.
Not happy with this theme.
March 8, 2015 at 12:13 am #407594Hello,
Are you saying I have to resize the image height myself? That the full width slider will not resize the images?
You don’t, in an ideal scenario WordPress would do this automatically but this is not the case with the images currently found in your Library, for some reason their size variations didn’t generate when they were inserted/fetched (that’s why i asked about the Archive Remote Images plugin).
However, that’s not the case with manually uploaded images, you can ascertain that with this test i made here:
http://tothefloor.com/test-slider-at-top-with-manually-uploaded-images/Their height remains the same and that’s because those images do have their 1500×430 height variations.

JosueMarch 9, 2015 at 1:21 pm #408031I am having exactly the same issue. I have followed your thought process and implemented the ‘Archive Remote Images’ and the ‘Force Regenerate Thumbnails’. The issue is the size of the images I am using in the slider. The width and height of the images are coming through as the original and not being displayed at 1500 by 430. What am I doing wrong please?

I cant post the code from the slider as it displays the image instead! Apologies I’m not that much of an advanced user.
Many thanks,
Jenny

March 9, 2015 at 3:00 pm #408122Hey Jenny!
If you want your images to be resized to 1500×430 you’d need to use images that are bigger than that, WordPress doesn’t scale up images.
Cheers!
