I am not sure what happened but I cannot edit my sidebar widgets. I’ve tried in the the Appearance>Widgets area where I was able to edit them previously, and after I could not open them there, I deleted them. They have never shown up in the customizer but the content still shows up on my sidebar. I need to get this changed because I have ads that I need to update.
Here is a link to a Dropbox folder with a screenshot of what I see in these two areas.

What was the solution? I’m having issues with not being able to customize my sidebar.
Thanks,
MarienFebruary 23, 2015 at 4:09 pm #400729Hi!
@marienlely Have you tried de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps? Can you post the link to your website please?Regards,
YigitFebruary 23, 2015 at 4:26 pm #400742Hi Yigit,
I more meant in the possible ways of customizing the sidebar, so I could have more control. I installed a sidebar plugin recently and that seemed to work pretty well.
I recently discovered I can manipulate the text widget for the sidebar pretty easily with the enfold one, so I might switch back.
Basically what I want to do is show a title > book underneath > short description underneath > text link ….and then another section
Check out my site here: http://urbancrochet.com/?page_id=2590 . You can see what I’m doing there with the sidebar currently. One problem is I’m trying to insert a rule under the title for each category, but so far unsuccessful there.
Thanks for checking in on this Yigit
February 24, 2015 at 8:14 am #401204Hey!
I’m not sure I completely understand what you are trying to do, what kind of rule would you like to apply to each category? If you have some kind of mock-up it would be of great help to understand better.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 24, 2015 at 8:39 am #401210Hi @Rikard, I figured it out. I was trying to simply modify a text widget on my sidebar but could not access from the Appearance>Widgets location like I had always done in the past, but I have found out how to do it.
@marienlely, I had been editing widgets from the Appearance>Widgets location. But now there is a “Manage in Customizer” button at the top of the Widgets page and when you click that you will be able to edit widgets with a live view present. You need to be sure to click on the page you plan the widget to be on. I think once you get there it will make since to you. Thanks for your help.

Rikard, thanks for checking in. Jim gave me enough to go off of so I should have no problem with it.
