blog page issues

Hey guys,

Awesome theme, great to work on and learn with as the novice that I am.

I’m having a couple issues on the blog page that I can’t seem to sort out though.

First, In the layout editor, I have selected the “excerpt with read more link” option, yet this doesn’t seem to work and the blog page displays the complete, entire posts.

Additionally, and maybe relatedly, the edits I make on the “blog” page (under “pages” in the dashboard) don’t show up on the site’s blog page. In particular, the “featured image” doesn’t show up anywhere. I’ve played around with it a ton yet can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong.

I’m sorry if I’m missing something obvious, could use any help to solve these problems!
