Hi
I created a new post and added the <!–more–> tag. However, this does not work. I searched the knowledge base and found code snippets/code suggestions to add to the my Child Theme’s functions.php file. None of them made a difference. In some of the articles, I noticed that the layout builder was being used to create posts. I don’t create posts that way because the builder is not activated.How best to solve my issue with the more tag in posts?
Thanks
LyseJanuary 26, 2015 at 9:09 pm #385834Hi tremblayly!
There should be two dashes like so.
<!--more-->
If you click on the read more button in the Visual editor it will insert the tag wherever your cursor is.

It has the two dashes….here’s a copy & paste: <!–more–>
LyseJanuary 27, 2015 at 7:05 pm #386518Hey!
Your actually only using one dash. This is your code.
<!–more–>
And it should look like this.
<!--more-->
You see the difference? Did you try clicking on the button in your WYSIWYG editor to insert it? That will give you the correct code to use or just copy mine and paste it inside the text editor.

Sorry for the confusion here…

The login information is not working for me, I tried both “Krisie” and “Kriesi”. Also, all of your posts are giving me 404 not found errors.
And if you have a post in draft status it’s not going to display in the blog so there is no way to check if the read more tag is working or not. You will need to publish it.

As Elliott said you won’t see it in your blogpage unless it is published, one thing you can try is to edit one of you already published Posts to see if the
more
tag works.Best regards,
