Reducing Page size

Has anyone had any luck reducing the page size of their enfold theme?

I’ve been testing my site on google page speed insights and trying to fix the issues they have flagged up, I have WP3 cachch installed, but I still can’t get my score up, it’s coming up with the following for desktop

Leverage browser caching

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Optimize images

Minify CSS

Minify JavaScript

Minify HTML

And the following for mobile

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Optimize images

Leverage browser caching

Consider Fixing:
Minify CSS

Minify JavaScript

Minify HTML

I would love to know if anyone has managed to get their enfold theme to load quick and reduce the number of request and page size, I don’t have a huge number of images on my home page but it is still coming up with 42 requests and a page size of just under 1mb, would like this to be the recommend 500kb.
