    We are transitioning from a heavily customized initial theme (old version – before responsiveness was integrated) to a revised child theme based off the newest version of Enfold. The CSS for the original site isn’t working the same in that the background image we apply to the sidebar or to the 1/3 column of the framework doesn’t continue down the column to be the same height as the content area.

    We are wondering if you know off hand what we could do to fix this?

    Hi awebusiness!

    It looks like the CSS your using is this?

    div.flex_column.av_one_third, #top #main .sidebar.sidebar_right {
        background: url("http://www.awebusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/right_panel_bg.png") repeat-y scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
        border: 0 none;
        min-height: 2000px;
        padding-bottom: 100px;
    }

    Try seeing the min-height to 3000.

    The min-height is only there to fix most of the pages. Any page that has shorter content doesn’t need that 3000px and then makes the page scroll when it doesn’t need to be. Is there a better way to make the column/sidebar automatically take on whatever height the content container is?

    Hi!

    There may be a way with CSS3 but I’m not sure what it could be. Usually when people want to do this they set a background image to the main container.

    main { background: url("URL to your image") repeat-y !important; }

    Regards,
    Elliott
