I’ve tried everything but I can’t seem to find how to get this to work. Right now, my test site is showing just a lower-resolution version. (The fallback to a static picture for mobile works well, by the way.)
Link below in the private content. Vimeo allows you to EMBED a higher-resolution video, but just using the link, as the full-screen slider requests of videos, doesn’t seem to work for HD. any ideas?
thank you!
November 16, 2014 at 9:30 pm #352164Hi charger70!
I think only a Pro or Plus membership is allowed to play in HD: https://vimeo.com/help/faq/sharing-videos/embedding-videos#can-i-make-my-embedded-videos-default-to-hd
Cheers!
AndyNovember 17, 2014 at 11:27 pm #352737thanks, Andy – i have it set to HD in vimeo plus settings, but it still seems to show a lower grade version. since i can’t use the embed code in the full screen slider (just the vimeo URL), there’s no way to really control it, i guess.
thanks for the link and your help! i appreciate it.
November 19, 2014 at 3:34 am #353455Hi!
It said on vimeo homepage:
“Otherwise, if you have a specific video you want to default to HD mode, head to that video page and click “Settings.” From there, select the Embed tab. Check the box next to “Default this video to HD quality when embedded” and save it like your life depends on it.With this option turned on, the only situation in which your videos will not play in HD is when your viewer manually turns HD off.”
Did you do this?
If yes, could you please create us an admin account to have deeper look into the issue? post it here as a private reply.

AndyNovember 20, 2014 at 8:16 pm #354419thanks, Andy – yes, i have it set to display in HD on embed. my point is that the fullscreen slider doesn’t use embed code – it uses a link to the video. it seems that in doing this, it defaults to a lower-resolution playback. that was my point earlier.
thanks for the help!
