Hey team
Big troubles here with contact forms not working for 2 schools – just when they are taking in new pupils!!! The contact forms have been working for some weeks, but suddenly – no more??!! Please help!
Please refer to login data for one of the schools in private data below:November 7, 2014 at 8:56 pm #347926Hey Carsten!
If emails are not being received then this is usually a problem with the server. Try installing this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smtp/, and send a test email to see if it works. You can try contacting your hosting provider for help in configuring the SMTP settings.
Also double check that your email address is correct and that your spam settings are disabled while testing.

Thanks for replying. Comforting to know that someone is actually in the other end :)
I am not a skilled programmer, do not know a thing about php or smtp:) I do not know how the Enfold contact form works. I am a designer using the beautyfull possibilities, that Enfold gives me – and thanks for that :)
First thing I did WAS contacting my hosting provider, and they told me (offcourse :) ) nothing was wrong at their end. And actually it has been working nicely for 3 weeks. A lot of students have applied via the form, and I have set up the form to forward the completed contact forms to 3 different email adresses, which has also worked with no problem. Finally I set up an autorespons, which also worked smoothly – but now not working either. This is not a problem caused by wrong email adresses or spam settings! Are you sure installing your suggested plugin will lead me in direction of solving this problem? Is there not anything else you guys can do or test. I did supply login data.
Very best regards
November 9, 2014 at 6:37 am #348281Hi!
There is no need to install any additional plugin, the Enfold contact form is working fine. I’ve created a test page (/cf-test/), made a test with my email (+ autoresponder) and the two messages did get to my inbox as expected – http://screencast.com/t/CzAdrbbvAOfI
Based on that i’d suggest changing the recipient to see if that’s the root of the issue.

Please check the Spam folder (i got the messages there). The form functionality is built with PHP but it uses the server capability to send mails.
Also, just to discard if the issue is really coming from the theme form, try setting-up a test form with this plugin and perform another test.
Cheers!

No, that plugin is not to set-up a new form but to configure a SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), so any outgoing mails pass through that.

Sounds good, will try it out :) I have a little issue with my hosting provider, since it today turned out, that they sort of caused the problem in the first place, so it might take a few days before I report back. We have had to make a temp. solution. But thanks for now. Such a great support! :) I always recommend Enfold for a large part because of this!
best regards

Installing the plugin my dashboard claimed that https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smtp/ was not ready for WP4. Don’t know if this is true, but I found this instead https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/ Should that not be ok?
I installed it, at it seems to work smoothly. Have to do some testing though and we need to find ourselves a secure mailserver and then hopefully we are “in business” again. I will report again if any problems.
But for now I want to thank you and the rest of the support team. You are the best :)
November 13, 2014 at 10:11 pm #350935Hi!
You should still be able to use it.
I’ve never used WP Easy SMTP but good to know it’s working for you. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Cheers!

JosueNovember 21, 2014 at 12:50 am #354740Hey Josue and support team, THANKS!
THANKS for your fantastic support. You guys have been acting swift and quickly and allready a few hours after the automatic WP 4.0.1 update which caused the problems you have come up with a patch. Is is top notch support!! : )
Meanwhile I followed a method for rollback to WP 4.0 as suggested by another person on your support forum. That worked just fine, and I have now stopped WP from autoupdating following another suggestion on your support forum. I am greatfull for your guys “never sleeping” support. Thanks!!
Very best regards
