Tagged: Blog, featured image
Hi
I’m using the Single Post with Big Preview Image option on a blog and was wondering if there is a way to make the image so that it is not so horizontal (increase image height) as it then takes some image manipulation not to have some weird cropping that i don’t want my client to have to deal with.
thanks
Hi Paul!
When you edit the Blog Post element there is an option called “Preview Image Size”. Select “Choose the preview image size manually” and another option will appear which will let you select the size. Your probably wanting the medium size.
Best regards,
Elliott
sorry, but i’m not sure that i’m following. Where is the Blog Post element? is that a Theme Option?
Hi!
Thank you for the update.
Sorry, we thought you’re referring to the blog overview page. Do you have a sidebar on your single posts pages? You can use this plugin to adjust the size of the featured images: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
Go to Settings > Media then look for the entry_with_sidebar thumbnail. If you have no sidebar on single post page, edit the entry_without_sidebar thumbnails. Adjust the size then disable the crop parameter. Update then save change before you regenerate the thumbnails. You can also upload the featured image again.
Regards,
Ismael
thanks. it worked.
as a note, i didn’t disable the crop parameter as doing so showed the whole image at whatever the max height setting was. by keeping the crop parameter enabled, i was able to increase the height ratio so that it was not so severe and at a more acceptable level for my client.
adding the ability to adjust that ratio without the use of the plug-in would be a great add to the theme, imho.
thanks again.
