    Hi guys,

I’ve looked though the forums and tried using the advanced layout builder (but it’s buggy)….

How can I wrap different content with different color backgrounds, similar to this page:
    http://portsmouthparkingshuttle.com/

Also, with CSS, how can I disable the the horizontal gray lines in between?:

    Thanks!!

    Hi DianeBenscoter!

The following outlines how to use Avia Layout Builder for your requirements.

    1. Add a coloured section using Avia Layout Builder
    2. Click on the coloured section to open the settings modal.
    3. Select a Custom Background Colour

    4. Disable Top and Bottom Border Styling by selecting “No Border Styling”

Should you have any further questions or encounter any bugs, we are always happy to assist.

    Hi Arvish,

    Thanks for the screenshots :)

How do I add text on top of the different backgrounds?

    Thanks!!

    Hey!

You can add Text Block or any other elements inside Color Section elements :)

    Best regards,

    Hi Yigit,

Ahh.. that makes sense. I didn’t know I could drop things inside of the color section.

The editor is very buggy for me.. my content gets deleted if I switch back to basic editor.

Also, I can’t edit text blocks. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/LiEUMK8XeN9 (no edit icon).

    Here is the site: http://ownyourbrain.org/

Am I able to use color section with shortcodes instead? I think this would be better.

    Thanks :)

    Hi!

You can enable debugging mode to see shortcodes you have created in pages using Advanced Layout Builder – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/
You can switch to Default Editor and click on Magic Wand to see full list of shortcodes http://i.imgur.com/n4KXkdm.jpg
then you can create any of them and copy/paste shortcode into any other content element or into text widget.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the screenshot Yigit… the only thing is that “color section” is not in the magic wand list! ;)

    Any ideas?

    Hi!

Fullwidth elements such as Color Section can be only used fullwidth, therefore, they do not have shortcodes. If you can give us more on what you would like to illustrate, we may help you better :)

    Cheers!

    Hi Yigit,

Bummer about no shortcodes for color sections, but I can understand.

We would like to have a page that looks somewhat like this: http://portsmouthparkingshuttle.com/

(different color backgrounds for different text parts).

    Thanks!!

    Hi!

You can create it using ALB easily. You can enable debugging mode ( i posted above but just in case in went unnoticed http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/ ) and you can see the shortcodes when you switch to default editor.

    Cheers!

    Hi Yigit,

I added the code to functions.php, but the page is pretty buggy (I can’t switch from visual to text tab & sometimes the WYSIYG editor appears twice on the page).

Also, the colors are not going full width: http://ownyourbrain.org/about/own-your-brain/

    Any ideas?

    Hey!

I’m sorry but you’re using an old version of the theme, 2.9.2. Please download the latest version from your themeforest account then update the theme via FTP. Please refer to this link for more info: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

Thousand of users are using Enfold and only a few reported issues regarding the editor. FYI, you can’t switch between default editor and the advance layout builder. Switch your builder to debug mode if you want to see the actual shortcode but be careful when you move the content via shortcodes panel. Make sure that you move all parts of the shortcode or it will break the page. Stick with the ALB, it is easier and safer.

    Cheers!

    Hey Ismael,

Thanks for letting me know about the update — I’ll take care of that :)

I think it’s because I started with shortcodes and then moved to the editor and it was bit wonky ;)

I deleted all content and started over and the editor is much better now. Thanks for the tips!!

    Have a great weekend!
