I have been returning to this forum since August 23rd when I wrote about the (Reply 308267) incompatibility of WP-SEO and the Enfold theme V2. I have avoided updating Enfold V3 or Yoast WP-SEO because I read that users continually still report incompatibility issues between the two products (even with new revisions of each products), patches that do not work and seemingly unaligned advice between moderators. The more I read and try to interpret what the current status of the alignment is between the products the less confidence I have to spend time to move forward and upgrade Enfold & Yoast.
I was content to see back in August 25th, that (reply #308671) a stickily post was set up to inform users of the SEO/redirection slug issues. It has been almost two months since that post, and after 60 days I am at bewildered to know why the products are not compatible yet. I enjoy Enford and Yoast but they seem to built on dissimilar code and its very difficult to know what works with what without trial and error by the user.
I was wondering, is it possible to sticky post, what the status is by rev levels that you support between products and what patches that apply ? I would like to know if Kriesi & team have tested and released a version of Enfold that Yoast can support without SEO errors {( read that Enfold V3 & V3.01 did not fix slug bug) #33667, and V3.02 has SEO issues #339923}.
Your thoughts ?
thanks.
October 30, 2014 at 8:01 pm #343617Hi Ed!
The latest issue (3.02) is a feature not a bug. I explain it in the thread. As for the other problems: I am afraid I have no idea why the theme and the plugin dont work well together and especially that the problems are so erratic and almost always impossible to reproduce for us.
Thats the reason this takes so long, because its basically a try and error approach with each new release. It works fine for 99% of our customers and also for us.
Every new version that I release works perfectly fine for me on multiple setups, yet there are always a few customers who report issues. I hope to figure that out but currently I can’t promise that the latest version will fix any issues that users are having.
Best regards,
KriesiOctober 31, 2014 at 7:46 am #343895Hi Kriesi,
Thanks for your well worded and thoughtful reply. I think I will continue to sit on the sidelines and not take the benefits of the features of the new revisions of Enfold and Yoast until either the compatibility is solid or I am forced to experiment. I am probably the 1% of users that will have an issue :). I’ll keep on checking back-in to keep current on progress to see if you figure it out and nail the problem down.
All the best,
Ed
