Hi guys,
I’d need your (possibly urgent) help!
I’m building my new site with Enfold 3.0 on an https protocol and there is something wrong, but I can’t find out what the issue is.
If you try to load the following pages:
https://casateulada.com/casa-teulada-1/
https://casateulada.com/casa-teulada-2/
https://casateulada.com/casa-teulada-3/
On a mobile device such an iphone or ipad, using Safari you should see an error message saying that ‘the page couldn’t load due to an error’ and it keeps trying to load the page like a loop.
Another thing I noticed is that the page is extremely slow to load. Especially the Full Screen Slider that is on top of each page takes tens of seconds to load, despite the fact that I compressed and optimized the images to make them super lightweight.
The page gets stuck during scroll if one is able to load it on mobile.
Can you please shed some light into these issues and let me know how to fix them?
I can’t unfortunately roll out a site that no matter how beautiful is virtually impossible to view on iOS mobiles and extremely slow on desktops.
Thank you,
Antonio
PS: I spent three days optimizing all images before making the pages, just because I knew I had to make them as lightweight as possible.

I checked your website on my iPhone 4 and it does load on my end – http://i.imgur.com/CbLjfCd.png
No errors at all but yes it is slow. Have you tried de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps?Cheers!
YigitOctober 14, 2014 at 4:43 pm #335646Hi Yigit,
Thanks for checking. The problem comes and goes…
I’m developing the site without plugins because I want a clean version before I start adding things. The only ones I currently have are Akismet, Clean Talk anti spam and Awesome Weather, which I added just a couple of days ago well after the problem occurred.
The site is on https, hosted with Namecheap, I asked them why it’s so slow and they suggest I use Cloudflare and WP Total Cache. I’ve never tried Cloudflare before and am a little worried about WP Total Cache because of its settings which may cause issue with the site…
Do you have any recommendation? If you notice, the site uses lots of elements on each page. Could that be a cause of the slow load time?
Thanks for your always awesome support and for solving the issues I find along the way.
I’m really happy with the results coming through Enfold. The site I’m currently working on may be the best and most comeplling site I ever created. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make it load faster too.I noticed that the fullscreen slider take a lot of time to load, regardless of the fact that I super compressed the images. Is there a way to make them load faster?
Thanks
Antonio
October 14, 2014 at 4:55 pm #335654PS: The error problem is for example occurring just now on my iPhone and those of my wife and daughter…page stops loading, saying an error occurred and keeps reloading in an infinite loop.
Other websites load fine from iphone. Do you have any clue where should I look?
Thanks.
Antonio
October 14, 2014 at 6:53 pm #335707Here is a website report I was just given (that I don’t really understand unfortunately), which identifies quite a lot of things that cause the site to be so slow.
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/141014_JT_T9J/1/details/
Apparently part of it is due to the server. A good deal of it though seems to be generated by the theme.
I will try and set up Cloudflare now and I may consider W3Total Cache, though I’m afraid I may make some damage because I don’t know how to set it up correctly…
Hopefully you can guide me to a safer path.
Thanks,
Antonio
October 14, 2014 at 11:13 pm #335798Hi Antonio!
Tried to use the site on my iPhone 6 now on several occasions during the last 2 days and it always seems to work fine for me so not sure what exactly is happening here :/
Your last post didnt mention it but I guess you are still encountering those issues=
As for optimization: If you want to use the easiest to use caching plugin I would recommend wp-supercache. Really works well for me on kriesi.at and I also use it for the enfold demo. It has quite a few options but you actually dont need to change any of them. The plugin usually works very well out of the box :)
Cheers!
KriesiOctober 15, 2014 at 11:53 am #336062Thank you so much Kriesi!
Problems still persist on the iPhones we have in the family (all 4S), but I guess I’ll find a way through.
Thanks for the tip on WP Superchache, I’ll try that instead on W3 Total Cache. Much appreciated, honored to have you personally respond and my most sincere congratulations for the outstanding work you are carrying out.
I’m one of the many super raving fans of Enfold and in my community it’s used and appreciated by many fellow members.
