I am having issues with the permalinks not working right. When you see the portfolio galleries. This is a weird issue that seems to keep coming up on some sites? What am I doing to make this happen? It seems to work fine, then mess up?

    Help appreciated!

    Hey Joshua!

The links on your portfolio site seem to work fine for me. What exactly do you want to change?

If you want to change the name or the permalinks, than please go in your wordpress backend to settings->permalinks and click on Custom Structure. You can put in for example this:

    %postname%

to change the permalink name to the name of the post.

    Best regards,
    Andy

General tip for problems with permalinks.

When your WP is hosted by a third party, they do not always put your WP in the root directory but in a different folder. As a result there will be 2 !!! .htaccess files.
This is mostly done for security reasons. The ,htacces file in the root is fully controlled by your hostprovider. at your WP folder you will find another .htaccess file. In this file, you will find the changes you make in WP such as permalinks.
However, if both htaccess files are synchronised your permalinks will NOT work.

Ask your provider to either sync these two files, or [at my case] they have a link where you can activate this. Mostly at your hostprovider controlpanel at Managing website cs.

    good luck

    Hi!

    Thank you for the info.

Please create a copy of the .htaccess file as backup. Delete it then flush the permalinks on Settings > Permalink. Just click the “Save” button once.

    Regards,
    Ismael

Tried this, Set it to Custom Structure and no luck???
The problem is in my portfolio pages, everything else is fine. I have it reset to default so they can at least be seen, the default structure id NOT what I want though, I need it custom.
    This is driving me crazy!

    Hey!

Please try de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps. Then you can activate them one by one to find the culprit

    Cheers!
