Hi there at kriesi.at,
My website is structured in different topics, where one of these is photography:
<domain>/topic1
<domain>/photography
<domain>/topic3As I’ve seen your demo with the photography content I’d like to present the photography section in that design. Is it possible to change the design for this branch of the site or actually just the theme option „Logo and Main Menu“ position from Top Header to left/right sidebar for it?

No, that’s not possible in a single installation, you can do that however with a multisite installation:
