Hi
I’m looking for help to fix a small issue.
I’ve read a number of forum threads on wordpress about this issue, followed all ideas through, but I can’t seem to troubleshoot. Some menu links on the navigation open in a new window when clicked. Others do not.
I’ve followed tips and gone Dashboard > Menus > Screen Options > Advanced Link Targets and checked ‘link target’. I’ve checked all menu items and they are set to ‘Same window or tab’.
I’ve visited Theme Options > Advanced Styling and although there are some customized elements, none have Header ticked.
I’ve visited all Plugins to see if there is one that could possibly cause this issue, nothing stands out as I’ve not updated or included any new plugins but the issue has just started to happen.
I am running enfold version 2.9.1 (soon to update to 2.9.2) and running WordPress 3.9.2. (I also haven’t updated to 4.0 yet as many of my peers have experienced even more issues, so I’m reluctant to try.)
As mentioned, only some of the menu items are affected. Others open as expected.
The site I’m working on is http://hideseekers.com
Any help would be great.
Cheers

Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately so we can look into it?

Not sure why it is applying target attribute on the menu link items. Please try to upgrade to WordPress 4.0 then update the theme to Enfold 2.9.2. Maybe, overriding the theme files will fix the issue.

Please firstly update Enfold to the latest version 2.9.2 via FTP and WordPress to 4.0 and check if that helps – http://vimeo.com/67209750

I guess I should back everything up first before I update to 3.9.2 and v 4.0.
Any recommendations on the best/user friendly way to back up?October 1, 2014 at 9:56 am #327923Hi!
You should probably ask your host to create a restore point in case. You can also download the database then copy the old theme files. Please refer to this link for more info on how to update the theme via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Cheers!
